MARBLE FALLS — Faced by an armed man, Police Officer Tim McIntire had only a split second to draw his own weapon and bring down the assailant before the suspect fired first.

Fortunately for the officer, in this case the “criminal” was actually a virtual target in what’s known as a “shoot, don’t shoot” simulator.

McIntire, along with almost two dozen other officers from the Marble Falls Police Department, honed their crime-fighting skills using a mobile Advanced Interactive Systems firearms training simulator during the first week in February.
